lucky day

by Richard Trotter

One lucky day
When there’s twice as many
dishes to wash in the sink,
The lucky day when I
am too busy to fester alone
And I won’t have to search
through junk mail on the mat
for a glimpse of brighter times.

One lucky day
We’ll make patterns in crisp snow
wearing boots and winter coats
and just walking home
takes on fresh new meaning.
And for once my desire
Could be our redemption.

wistful and dreaming, sadly... may that lucky day see the light... well versed... blessings...
