Thoughtless Glance

by Becca Morton

The misty evening has enough light to see you through the window...
I grab my pencil and start to write the memories of our love...
Never did I think that time could pass when I’m not with you
My bleeding heart... is the only thing I’ve got left......

I remember the days that we shared...

L O V I N G
L A U G H I N G
R E M E M B E R I N G

I’m scared of the thought that I can never be with you...
All alone...I wonder what my life is coming to...

I would give my world for you...
Everything it possesses...Just to see you...

L O V I N G
L A U G H I N G
F O R G E T T I N G

But you have lost the memories of our love...
Trapped in his clutches....
I would die for you...

But the idea of me sends you away...
All I have to keep me going is the memory of...

That thoughtless glance that held you back... long enough to say, “I love you”

Author's Note: This is about a man who loses the woman he loves...I guess its alright... I personally like the last line
