Room to Share the Ride

by Thomas K. Hunt

I need your laughter and I need your fear
I need you by my side
In my life’s journey I need you here
I need you to share the ride

We can get lost in a garden by the sea
Leave our footprints in the sand
Dance together in the ocean breeze
Walk the beaches hand in hand

We can buy the highest tower
One with the perfect view
Your love gives me the power
To make this happen for you

I need your comfort and I need your touch
I need you by my side
I need your all I need you so much
I need you to share the ride

We can climb a mountain
If that’s where you want to be
Build a home on that mountaintop
Where we can live rustically

We can dwell in the desert
I’ll buy you a camel to ride
I know a grand place on the west side
By a canyon that’s so wide

We can live where the frost bites
It has its ups and downs
Nothing warmer than a winter night
In a little northern town

I guess you can see it doesn’t matter to me
I just need you by my side
I’ve got a one-way ticket to anywhere
And there’s room to share the ride
