pinch me/falling

by Lisa-Dawn Sparling

Pinch me,

I can’t tell if I’m falling,

Falling,

Deeper and carelessly,

To a part of myself,

That I forgot existed.

A place behind the walls,

Behind the blistery storms.

Stop me,

Before its out of control,

Before I fall too far,

To climb back out.

It’s hard to catch myself,

It has been so long,

Since I felt my stomach drop,

Since I opened the door.

This sounds like a process of evaluating a situation. This evaluation seems to include the fear, though positive.
