Would You Believe

by Kalikala Smith

And the clouds come out at night
sweep me up to their ethereal sky.
Oh why can't I
have somewhere to go to?

And the world's so far away
everything looks a deeper shade of gray
but its alright.

Oh sweet water
come take me away.
Dusty I am breathing
heavy today.
Missed the bullet
what can I say?
Except that I'm fine.
Would you believe me if I said I was fine?

But the storm, it prevails
and it rains and it hails
and I'm left all alone
with no where to go to.

And I pray for something more
some way to get me out the door
and face the day.

I want to know
which way is up and which way is down.
I want to see
what I can see without a crown.
Then I'll fall down on my knees
and beg the trigger
to have a little fun.
