The Curious Wind by Charles J HannanGentle breeze ..at first
It knocks so forgiving
Please let me in
It will howl like a dog
Furious it becomes
We try to keep it out
But...finding ways
Where mice could only peek through
The wind is patient
And will get in
Maybe not today
But someday
It presses on
Curious
Relentless
Just as it always has
Waiting
Outside
Stirring life
As sweet as Spring
Carrying death
Harsh as Winter
Lovingly floating clouds
And children's kites
Or flattening trees in anger
...I hear a knock
Perhaps I better let it in 03/01/2004 Posted on 03/01/2004 Copyright © 2025 Charles J Hannan
