Topic: Arboreal

by Amanda J Cobb

You have planted yourself in me,
shooting tendrils down
down
seeking purchase
seeking warmth, and liquid life.
You have intertwined yourself
in me
and yet always,
always
you are looking upwards
to the sky
reaching to touch its clouds

I am the dirt you stand rooted in
as you strain to fly.

Author's Note: Topic from Joe Chiles. Took me FOREVER to write this one. Somewhat inspired by a boy, and exaggerated.
