Go, and catch a falling star by Lauren PearlGo, and catch a falling star
Pretend you know just who you are
Teach me to hear a silent cry
Preach to me when your heart is dry
Ask not what you choose to ignore
Give more than you take, not as a chore
Think what you will but say what you mean
Tomorrow's moon rises on all but unclean
The Autumn falls like tears can do
Shedding light on leaves, colors, and dew
But all things die, like you must learn
Before the earth, all do return
Death is not Winter, the reverse is true
Although few can fathom, apparent and blue,
Before you lay the ticking, lively and green
Masked in a cloak of brown so widely seen.
Around you they change, but safe in the hearth
The dearly departed descend toward the earth
The trees sway in winds, wholly enchanted
Reminding those behind what chances were granted
Dear Child, don't fret, lift your head, look at me
My eyes tell stories about lives set free
And Winter seems dark, and sad, this I know
But beauty is hidden underneath precious snow.
The stars still shine, not wasted, you see
For what is gone will not return immediately
But if you look inside what is encompassed in you
You will see Winter turns to Spring, everything anew.
