topic: early morning phone calls

i know who it is
i answer without looking at the caller ID
his voice is an imprint forever etched in my mind
"Remember when we used to talk for 8 hours on end?"
he said to me
"Yes" I reply
reminiscing of the days of innocence and freshman dreams
"I just called to say i miss those"
"So do I"
A deep breath and a sigh
A comfortable silence
"Well I love you"
"I love you too"
