Beach Moment

by Karl Waldbauer

As you rise from the Deep,
the sun strikes your perfect skin
exploding a million opals.
Minute diamonds caught on my chest
sparkle,
glistening.
We dive and surface together.
You’re a seal,
I’m a dolphin with a satyr’s grin.
We roll in the waves
at one with the ocean,
pulled,
tossed by tides,
shimmering like the jewels we’ve become.

Wonderful imagery, fits the subject very well. Favorite line - "Im a dolphin with a satyrs grin" - I don't know why, just like it.
