Be Careful

by John D Uzzell

Be careful

All grown up and on the way out
They’ve gone out in search of their own
I was there I remember that time
When life was easy and unknown

They’re looking for what is in store
And watching for it to show
Running fast straight to the mark
Where it is yet they do not know

I hope they look wisely
And they keep their eyes straight ahead
Still trying to show them where not to turn
I hope with my words the right way I have led

Be careful guys remember what I have said
I hope it isn’t too much for you to bear
If you need me anytime for anything at all
No matter what it is I’ll always be there

To Ian, Laura and John
They are all grown up.
