Eyewitness

by Sam Roberts

Slack, screwed tightly into the seat
I observed,
twisting this watered down brew around my tongue
Tainted by sour seeds
There is a war in my mouth,
Being fired into the karaoke crowd

Sightless almost from the rays
This dancing, spinning; candid confusion
I see a woman
Confidence walking through her, her lip departing from streams of smoke
Jumping, like beans would through hoops, leg kicking, swaying her arms beneath her hips
Throwing herself over lights, made just for her.

Shattered by his love for her, intrusive on her thoughts
He stood there, Insanely lighting her already lit cigarette and smelling her blonde white hair
Poor fellow was mentally ill, drying his craved tear on her heart
Her oily hands, clapped
she went down

I watched.
The ground rotating around her lacerated feet, perfectly kicking dust
It seemed she was coiled around a lovers shell, the music
It took her dancing.

The way you describe it makes me think this must be a very interesting pub you go to.
