I forget, remind me again how to stab someone in the back

by Jolie Jordan

For every time you decided that
being around me was too painful
I traced veins until they glowedl
uminescent. and drawing out my
insides through my womb, I bled
onto your white sheets, and for y
ou darling, I left behind my heart
ache, wrapped in your pillowcase
. you can pretend that we're stillf
riends, if you want. but I don't ha
ve time to pretend that Istillcare

Diane Arbus, the great photographer, was also a wonderful writer. She used her typewriter to write letters in the same way, with words splitting between lines. This is in the same breathless, lacksadical style, and I love it.
