Apology from the Heart

by Becca Morton

All I can think about is that moment with you....
Moving our feet slowly to the music...
Your hand holding mine...
I stare into your bright green eyes...
The words you speak hit me so hard
I wish this single moment could last forever...

Every lie you told me, changed me...
Every rumor they spread, made me realize...
All the feelings I had for you are gone

But standing there, dancing with you...
Wishing I could apologize for my mistakes...
For your lies... for "ruining" my life,
I know how insignifigent it was...
Yet all I wanted to do was say...I'm sorry

Author's Note: I'm sorry... This piece has an indefinate meaning. I tried to tie in alot of emotions, and that scared me.... This is not about a certain person... its about several people that have all had an impact on my life. Please tell me what you think!

I really like this poem. Very heartfelt and emotional. It's funny how sometimes people hurt us and yet we still feel we are the ones who should apologize...I liked this poem because I could tell it just flowed out of your pen...like I said before, from your heart's emotional state at the time. Lovely read :-)
