Topic: I Was Through, When I Said, "I Love You."

by J. P. Davies

Great mistakes,
awareness of propulsion.
{I'm going out on a limb}
Trying to be aware,
not to replicate mistakes.
{here I go} I'm dropping it.

I never meant to say this,
{I'm sorry, I love you}
It's just that letting go
doesn't seem possible.
{The past is intertwined}
When in doubt move on...

Hold on, so I can't run.
{I have a bad habit}
You only believe in you,
not in my entity.
I believe in you too.
{My ego needs no stroking}

I'll just gripe to you,
and realize I'm screwed.
{I've forgotten to regret}
I just needed to dry out,
{the tears were for you}
You never stopped to look.

I am the benefactor,
{the willing recipient}
of your scarred heart.
I just realized,
I was through when I said,
{I love you}

Mistakes are replicated now and then if only to teach the lesson twice, or three times, or how many times they're needed. Second stanza is great in this too. Good work with this topic.
