Falling Out of Love (sonnet)

by Becca Morton

Waiting ever so patiently for you
Feeling your touch as you bid me good night
Living a life that you know is not true
Wondering if the love I feel is right
Thinking that the love you show is not real
Bidding you farewell... you walk out the door
Why can’t you tell me how you really feel?
Knowing that I can’t take it anymore...
You were always the one that I went to
But now I see that it was all a lie
How can I possibly live without you?
How will I know what I can survive by?
Is there any hope left in love at all?
But yet, it wasn’t love that made me fall...

Author's Note: My first attempt at a sonnet.... I kind of like it... will you please tell me what you think? I don't even know if I wrote it correctly.... haha... I'd like to enter it in February Teen Patron Contest... we'll see!! Thanks for your comment! oh... and if you read the odd lines together it makes a seperate poem... same with the even lines.... just thought u should know....
