respect me sir, ok? (sonnet/acrostic)

by Nanette Bellman

relenquishing yourself to someone else,
ebngulfing what you need into nothing,
simply says..."i love you more than myself"
people just don't do all of this hunting,
except when you are playing hard to get.
can you understand that's not the case here.
to you, haven't learned to understand yet.
maybe i hold more than you hold dear.
even when sly words roll off of your tongue,
shadows for see it, what you really mean.
is it not enough for me to be numb?
really i know, you're not what you seem.

opening up myself to you to keep
kills the n o t h i n g i held ever so deep.
