Dry or Droll?

by Robert Cameron Hazelton

I strolled in off the street
pulled up a soft seat
ordering with the wriest grin,
“Hey get off yer ass
and pour me a glass
of what you consider yer driest gin!”

With a menacing glare
he got up off his chair
and placed an empty glass where I sat,
bunching his brow
he said, “There now,
it doesn’t get much drier than that!”

Being from NJ, I love the "attitude" in this poem. Shirley Allard recommended I read your poems since you are very good with rhyme. I agree, and you have style, flow, and rhythm too.
