Unforseen, Frontier

by A.M. Demarco

Just say to me, tonight
tonight we’ll meet up after class
to offer up our frailties
in a dance beneath the stars

without a care for all that came before
the first time I caught diamonds in your eyes
faith in your lips
grace in your step

a light

one the world counts itself the richer for owning
and I for the knowing.

For you see
I had forgotten the peace of letting go
the joy of listening
the thrill of comming to

recognize all
the pains the joys the ecstacy and the alienation

everything that washes away
when you walk into the room
