christian purge by Rachelle Howei swallowed a crucifix.
it splintered all the way down.
settling in my stomach,
jesus was the acid that i could
never have digested,
ingested, or purged.
the wayward child
had sang hallelujah for the last time,
she had been awoken
to the black light of reality.
and the torment
that was hers would be unto salvation;
the rejection that scarred her lining
would linger as a chain and cross
in the bottom of a latrine. 01/26/2004 Author's Note: don't smite me.

Posted by George Hoerner on 04/12/13 at 10:42 PM This is interesting to me because I have a "date" to see a minister from the church my wife and I have been attending for the past year or so. She probably in her 30's attractive with the singing voice of an angel and she believes although she has admitted to the occasional doubt. When she first mentioned that in an evening bible study session I was surprised and even more so when she mentioned it in a sermon a week or so later. In any case I'll see how she reacts to what I have to say. I must tell her I have never been a ‘true believer’. In fact I am much worse. Not an atheist but I have said if “god” came down and said if I would bow down to ‘him’ I could go to heaven I would not only refuse, I would tell him he should be ashamed of himself for innocents he has let suffer for no good reason at all. Not for me, I’m far further from being innocent than you could even imagine. Take care lday. |
