Neglect by Trisha De GraciaA glass that refuses to fill
transparent and empty and far too shallow
a shot glass
for you to try to pour whatever in
to consume the void that's gaping in your life.
Smooth and perfect.
Round and almost soft around the edges
if it weren't for the fact that this silica shatters
when dropped,
when you let go.
Down down
forever falling down
'til crystal fragments litter your peace of mind
'til it's too late to say that you told me so
--Too late to remind me I sparkle sometimes.
I'm so far broken your kiss can't fix it.
Don't try-
you'll only bleed deeper.
