This Deepest Numb

by J. P. Davies

I used to dream in sepia,
now everything is color.
Like you flipped the knob,
sudden rainbows of love.

The air is cool around me,
juxtaposing the warmth
of your full, soft, lips.
Fresh flow circuits of
honey-tongued dance.

Deepest searing cuts,
of lusting lashes.
Dragged across my skin,
your nails bring lances,
shudders of delight.

We lay in afterglow,
the blending of scents.
A new perfume to call
our own. Yello-white.
Human conditions...

Be mine again, today.
Leave me speechless,
in dumbfounded, silence.
Beyond description,
this deepest numb.
