winter's sighs

by Kimberly Bare

depths of winter envelope me
and i am
chilled to the core

i fear no warmth shall enter
and frozen smiles
never reach these eyes

feeling has left me as
i seek out sparks of fire
to melt this icy corpse

oh...that i were
more forgiving than
this harsh light & silent sighs

Hmmm I think the strong expression of winter's plight is deeper than the snow outside and chill of the bitter cold air. This speaks to me of coldness of spirit.
