Supernova Rising {the day after}

by Kimberly Bare

Joy, a recent memory,
consoles an aching mind.
Thoughts of here-on-after
penetrate the haze.

Tasks before us now are both
painstaking and conspicious.
Yet,
there may also lie in waiting
a supernova that could prove to be
the brightest time of our lives.

Possibilities rise, majestically
as the winter sunrise
casting warm sienna across
the azure awakening of day.

Courage and hope spring forth
as blindingly as the orb of
golden light slicing the horizon.

Joy, a future prospect,
consoles an aching mind.
