CNN Poem by Gary Hoffmann"CNN: The extended middle finger on the pulse of America's Hideousness"
A man laughs inanely
Yesterday, Saddam was found
I have a cold beer
They check his hair and teeth
Televised for our viewing pleasure
Large-breasted commercials
New Jersey suburbia
"Now it's safe to drive my SUV"
What was the threat, again?
Saddam is found healthy
My sister is dying of cancer
Priorities, priorities 12/14/2003 Author's Note: The full title wouldn't fit in the allotted space, and so is the first line of the poem in quotations.
