Portal of a Lover

by Kalikala Smith

progression of thought leads to this
a subtle kiss on the cheek
a gaze into new eyes.
what is it we see?
a meandering wanderer looking for something to satisfy.

but is that all there is to this
just a meaningless lover
to ease the pain until he no longer can bear the burden
of our soul.

another night stained by the motion of random touch,
getting closer to perversion by the minute
and what's a lover anyways?

someone who loves,
or wants to be loved,

or thinks love is a thrust of the hips.

I like this. It reminds me of those days way back when. Don't worry, though, it never morphs into true perversion.

Never complete perversion....Very nice job well done. Hey, did I ever tell you how proud I was to be your friend? Well I am. :)
