::remnants of a flood:: by Bethany Lee
perhaps not mad,
but truly sad
for the uncovering of
bitter memories
of how my halo was lost.
you claimed we were over
that which passed by,
with its earthquakes and
monsoon rains.
the brief monstrosity of my humanity.
we have so much future approaching...
a new world to explore hand-in-hand.
release these relics
to the creatures beneath the sand -
realease these remnant bones,
there are no rooms for
skeletons in our peaceful home.
it is a ghost that
needs to move on to
a new plot of land,
to leave us to our
sequal of happiness.
