Topic: My Garden of Silk and Stone

by Amanda J Cobb

With hair like molten gold,
limbs warm and smooth like butter
beneath my sugar-and-vanilla skin,
I will spread myself over you,
wrap around you like the satin sheets
now lying in a tangle
at the foot of the bed.
I will surround you
with permeable softness
and move with the slow delight
of syrup over your skin.

Ensnared by my seeming submissiveness,
you will fall hungrily
into the delicious trap I set.

And then I will hit you like a brick,
hard body pressed next to yours,
putting you up against a wall,
breathless and dizzy.
I will unsteady you,
leave you frantic in the loss of control
as I disarm and destroy you with ease,
dragging you down to the very depths
of passion and pleasure
with the sheer weight of my desire
until you sink willingly,
as helpless as a stone.

And as rock-bottom approaches,
you will cry out for me to save you,
reaching your hands up
to wrap them in silken strands,
your lifelines
as you rush towards oblivion.

And I will be your saving grace

but first you have to die.
