Note On The Door

by Kate Demeree

Today a white rabbit
Came knocking on the door
Much to late and harried
Merle dropping by
Intrigued with the glimmer
Within a maidens eye
We agreed it didn't matter
For the Hatter
Was yet mad
We shared a cup or two
Of memories we had
So thanks to the rabbit
Who knocked upon the chamber door
As the sign was posted
Alice doesn't live here anymore

isn't it nice when this happens? No pressure, just a cuppa sweetened by nostalgia. Lovely.

Funny how our filters can mix us up - I thought of Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit, and then the story/movie of "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore." Yeeks. Had to get my Alice In Wonderland Goggles on. Heh... this was a fun read.
