secrets while you slumber

by Emily Davidson

there, like your
sticky bedtime drool
there i am,
a girl standing crookedly
watching you sleep,
listening to your
breathinginbreathingout

and i just wish you'd open your eyes one night
and know that
i have this habit of
visiting you in your sleep, and
you'd know then that it leaves me lonely
in the morning
