Those Who Break

Apathy drives me to the edge
Indifference will no longer suffice
My heart has atrophied
due to lack of use
This thing in my chest
it's beyond recognition
It used to be worth something
I've lost all intuition
Too close to a ledge
one that leads to nothing
which is what I fear most
What will it take for me
to see I'm blessed
despite my repetition
despite my suspicion
Mercy comes to those who break
