Navy Pier

by Amanda J Cobb

Whiling away productive hours,
the precious dollars,
in the nooks of Navy Pier.

First full day in the big city,
feet find no pity
as they wander Navy Pier.

Knowing it wasn't a day well-spent,
still somehow content
as I wait in Navy Pier.

Waiting to feel the connection,
waiting to see him,
and I smile in Navy Pier.

Author's Note: For Shawn. Thanks for a great time in Chicago.

On another note, this is a weird experimentation in rhyme and meter.

Lovely images with a great rhyme that tends to flow right from the screen and into the heart.

Very nice and touching work. It expresses a common experience to us all. Nice work -bf
