Hope Died Hard

by Alan Mahood

Hope died hard,
Her last breaths came in little raling
Gasps, waiting for for her sisters
Forgivness and Compassion to
Pull her from the grasp of
Her ex husband Despair.
Too bad for Hope that the sisters
Had gone to a New Years party
Consumed too much,
Laughed too loud,
And had last been seen
Leaving with two strange men.
So while hope's breath shortened
And her cries for help weakened
To a whisper the world
Kept on keeping on uncaring.
I saw it all,
Tried to help,but was
Being held captive
By CNN.
