1+1+1=0 (New Math)

by Jon-Jacob F Deal

Math genius or something, huh?
Maybe one sticky, sea-side night,
Convinced of his absolute value,
You'll discuss every variable--
From the greatest common factor
To the least common denominator;
Subtract resistance as he plots your slopes,
Digits slowly multiplying,
Add his line of best fit to the equation
(Rise over run, of course)
And, arcing to match his algorithm,
Reach the solution that,
Due to our long division,
You'll stay up 'til dawn
Putting one into zero.

Someone was looking for poetry about math. I wish I could remember who, to suggest this. Very creative. Love it.
