Sometimes I've wondered
how small you appear
empty cup conspired by fate,
but resisted by sunsets observed
with our hearts tethered
by the coppery beacon.

An unrequiting world
is looking through lists for you,
circling like a ring of flowers:
Medieval girl in a modern time,
together we'll resist the flow
of trains and human clouds.
