Christmas Morning

by John D Uzzell

Christmas Morning

every year i take a ride
Christmas morning, my tear i hide
i call your name and thank you for
my life and loves to not ask for more

i pray for peace and pray for calm
in lives that arent as blessed
i watch outside as i pass
and smile for the rest

still something isnt right
but who am I to say
its Christmas morning
for you i pray

you who have not
and those of you that do
i pray for help to make something good
remembering, asking about that miracle for you

i think of years past
that one Christmas on my mind
walking into the front
a smile forever i did find

i want to pass it on
to those who havent seen
what Christmas means to me
how blessed my life has been

no i do not have it all
and now i still wait for it to show
but i have what i need to share
for others the joy to know

it is meerly a thought
simply to give without regret
smile just a little more
being sure that was one of the gifts sent

This is what it should really be all about. Not just the people with the haves, but the ones who live as have nots constantly. And the way we treat people, not by purchases alone but by our everyday dealing with them. beautiful and so altruistic.
