Destiny In Starlit Sunrises

by J. P. Davies

The human condition
that lends itself
to the perogative that is
my vision at dawn,
is slowly collecting
in starlit pools at my feet.

It's polar and attractive
to wash over you in seething
waves of malcontent.
Harsh symphonics braze
and torch when you whisper
sweet somethings in my ear.

Just watching the sunrise
in your irises as the stars
fade to dust in your complexion.
I could gaze at this apparition
until my eyes were clouded and hazy
and never once regret my choice.

Because droplets of trust
stream from your pores
and the vulnerability that
exudes when you and I inhale
and exhale the same molecules
is self -serving enough
to make me believe I'm in control.

Caught on the edge of a breath
or a word this silence is seductive.
Hanging in the limbo
between distortion and clarity
I can see more than I ever have.

This takes my breath away. Quite honestly one of the most vivid pieces I've ever read of yours.
