The Road Less Taken (Not Robert Frost)

by Jersey D Gibson

I walked down my path,
and I can't take another step.
So tired, so alone,
see the trail I have wept?

The dark is coming,
and I'm left without a light.
So I close my eyes,
and welcome the final night.

The road less taken,
do I have what it takes?
The road less traveled,
let's see what fate makes.

I walk along this lonely road,
bordered by those who been here before.
The mist of time is no more,
I took my turn at the exit door.

Side-by-side by my life's kin,
I see your scars are the same as mine.
The weeping doesn't seem to have end,
this ending I chose didn't end fine.

The road less taken,
do I have the guts?
The road less traveled,
started with my first cuts.
