Looking (Honestly Looking)

by Deanna M Gritsonis

I look in the mirror
A good look
Who is this I see?
Green eyes glistening for the touching moments
Taking it in
A freedom just unlocked
Passionate lips for life
Ready to taste the world
Parted slightly for love
Hair to declare my own creation of the day
Demanding to take notice
Skin pale untouched to faking it
Pure and original
And a nose to hint out the plastic of the world
Smelling the wonders
I see the beauty of me
For the first time
