Tealight Moon

by Melina Raven Maness Diebold

The tealight moon with teabag clouds

a nimbus shawl sprawled across lunar shoulders

Venus glaring, incarnadine cast-sharing

burning rings asmoulder

Blessing night with silver shine

glittering, flittering light sweetening the brine

of the lake with dying fishes

the lake of dying wishes

Albino deer keeping guard

watching over their midnight charge

Gilded beam and jilted dream

Tealight moon, her candlewick charred

Widow Luna with black attire

crying shadowed tears of starry fire

Mourning for morning, her lover Sol

Twilight Tealight kept away by his fall

Author's Note: I thought the moon looked like a Tealight the other night

Beautiful and rich with mythic images that give it a spiritual depth. Great read!
