Bittersweet Surrender by John HarderYesterday I stopped caring
about you and what you think
Today I've come to my senses
They can never understand
nor will I
Why should I keep trying?
It's time now to let go
To dust off my sandals
on the outskirts of your heart
I am pushing against it all
fighting nature itself
They don't know what's best
How can they?
The pressure becomes too much
One last fighting breath
and I buckle under the weight
I give up 12/17/2003 Author's Note: It's not what it seems. It's odd how that turned out.
