red-headed stepchild

by Nanette Bellman

let her spit her things from her bitter tounge
because on one day all these things with change
she should have brought more friends than she has brung
for certain in the air is something strange
i mean the world to you; more than she did
leaving deep down in her, a jealousy
because i've got more than she's got to give
so you look away from her and look to me
i really shouldn't make her be this way
but in me, it's something i can't ignore
and i'm the birth of all that she may say
so for some reason, i torture her more
i do not think she minds, she plays right back
i will be the winner of the attack

I like the line breaks in this one, I think it's really suitable.
