Airless by Sam Roberts
Camouflaged shower, dead in earth dried summer
The Cypriots walk down the dangerous uneven pavements,
Stepping over holes where palm trees swayed
Believably fanning sticky complexions
Left now blushing as the humidity swells

Author's Note: Another description of my old home in cyprus, I was lucky not to be a tourist. The heat didn't bother me x

This poem, with its exact imagery, really puts the reader at the scene. Well-done. |
