Far from home

by Aaron Howard

So what, you're 1200 miles away...
and all we have are good-byes to say.
We miss each other, but not really
since we don't know the meaning of touchy feely.
We've only kissed a couple of times
and it all feels like a bunch of love crimes.
Your like I love you one day, the rest of the month no
and your favorite way to start a conversation is Yo...
I love you to death and this I'll protest
but this distance thing really puts one to a test.
A test of will, a test of trust.
all over a beautiful smile and a big bust.
So Maybe it's best if we just say 'We'll be friends'
since all we've been doing is playing a game of pretends.
I'll pretends' I'm your man, and you my girl
and we'll sit here lonely for the rest of the world.
I'll spend large amounts of loot on the phone
and when I wake up in the morning I'm still alone.
You think it's nice to have someone waiting for you
but all it does is leave the other person blue...

When I graduated college and had a boyfriend who wanted a LD relationship. This poem totally convinces me I did the right thing and cut him loose. Dang, that sounds tough!
