understatement of the year.

by Olivia Weinkein

it isn't tasting very sweet
honey's turning sour
my stomach your mouth
i'm vomiting words into an
empty bed because that's where
bitterness lives and i just might
lay down next to it.
give me a minute to collect my breaths.
to
collect
yours.
nothing is going down so good and every
time you push me into silence, i come up
screaming for air.
bask in this with me, won't you.
oh, but if only looks did kill
your body drug for miles
and me in the distance
laughing at you.
tell me when it's okay to come out.
let me know when you need to be fed
again. this whole world is a cage but you're
thinking you're safe now that you've become
the most popular at the petting
zoo.

this isn't looking good.

i'm twisting my thoughts into something
dangerous. you're getting lost between
the seams. honey's turning sour
my mouth your stomach
and no,
it isn't tasting very sweet.

Yes, indeed, very dark. But an excellent piece of work.

Dark emotion projected onto a taste -- quite an interesting take on things
