Posted by Richard Paez on 12/16/03 at 03:12 PM I find this very interesting. Short as it is, there’s a certain tone to it that feels perfect. As it stands, it seems to me almost as a riddle. What are you accepting? Someone’s hand? A drug? Something more figurative? I don’t know what your plans for this are, but I would like to see where you go with it. If you could keep the same concrete tone with abstract style throughout, it would be awesome. Or maybe the poem really is finished, and the (unfinished) in the title is the answer to the riddle: whenever we submit, surrender, we give up a part of ourselves; we render ourselves unfinished, incomplete. So intriguing, like a good haiku. Thank you for sharing this Vikki. {m} |
