every note has a new meaning
and a change in tempo means a change in heartbeat.
i need to remind myself
it's about the notes, the rhythms,
the harmony, the beauty,
the contrast, the crescendos.
it's not about who's watching,
or who i'll impress
or who will love me for this
and who won't.

and at times like this i can only wonder
will we be short and sweet like an etude
or extended and intense like a symphony?
