You don't need teeth to bite these days,
tight lips and pink gums are enough
to numb the thickest skin into submission.

Everyone's got pie slice mouths,
all this love in isosceles triangles
and I get stuck with the short stick-

The eventual pressed out inch,
the eventual converging lines,
double thick without me.
