Topic: After Hours Through Darkness, a Pinprick of Light by Trisha De GraciaThere you were
wading all the while through this,
this cavernous oasis, stagg'ring
mauled and open
fresh with gaping fissures scudging down your bones.
Oh, mental note:
Your waxy face was not as smooth as I had thought
when first I graced your skin with my
own elegance and tasteful presense.
This is not concededness.
This is just my own interpretation,
verbally and factually depicting
clear the state of mind that I was in
when snow was brushed from the rabbithole mouth-
when you reached a hand in attempted salvation-
when eyes decieved me and thought you held daggers-
when really, a frayed rope will spell your escape
if you just hold it tight enough.
Know what? In theory,
It was like me driving lonely
through rain spattered night with no streetlights.
You
the lowly pedestrian,
inevitably takes the time to flag me down
and says "Excuse me,
Ma'am,
I think you're headlight's out."
You're just so kind that way...
It's quite unfortunate,
that sickly sense of trust you do possess.
In theory,
I'd have flicked my headlights to 'highbeam'
and aimed the car directly for your ego.
