Pointless by Sam Roberts
Wasted afternoons of daylight
Drying up the sun and skin wilting;
My tender Childhood skin is watched by my eye
Changing; stalking my hands
flowing like ink and water, uniting
I am a child again,
My fused lollipop mind makes everything seem -
(Pointless)
Everything twists spontaneously , and tastes sweet
Like marshmallows on sticks
Warming and melting onto the fire
Until it drops like all this -
(pointlessness)
And your eye is the witness of ageing.
You disappear under the sheets
the ink stains; soaks into wrinkles
and dries your tears
